“This old toy tin boat - possibly from the 1930s - came down the river with me from Verplanck, New York, to Far Rockaway, after I received it as a present from the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater. I make toys and games because I take enormous pleasure in their long and diverse history, and because I think taking fun seriously is part of being politically responsible. I hope to remake this boat myself one day.”
