“For years, this necklace sat in a little elephant-patterned satin box, a treasure passed down from my great aunt when I was 9, that I would wear when I was a “grown up.” In my mid- 20s I moved into my first apartment alone and soon after was robbed, wiping clean my mementos marking milestones and people. Eight years later, browsing in a nearby vintage shop, I found the necklace.”

“‘DV’ is the hilarious and wonderfully direct autobiography by the famed fashion editor and supreme original Diana Vreeland. For the past 12 years, it has served as a road map, helping me to understand and appreciate the way in which fashion reflects the greater world. Beyond superficiality, it is a political thermometer, a cultural piñata and daily influencer.”
