“Jader was kind of a velcro dog; I couldn’t even go to the bathroom without him beside me. I’d look at him like, ‘Really?’ and he’d just kind of look back at me, like, ‘What?’ Every one - even cat people - gets one great dog in their life. Jader was mine.”

“For years, this necklace sat in a little elephant-patterned satin box, a treasure passed down from my great aunt when I was 9, that I would wear when I was a “grown up.” In my mid- 20s I moved into my first apartment alone and soon after was robbed, wiping clean my mementos marking milestones and people. Eight years later, browsing in a nearby vintage shop, I found the necklace.”
